French: La Cigale

After memorizing, performing, and discussing the French fable, La Cigale et la Fourmi, the girls and I imagined that la cigale learned her lesson and spent the next été working and playing so she could have food for l'hiver. But now, she needs a place to put it all! To solve this new problem, the girls designed food storage containers for la cigale that could withstand the harsh winter elements. We loaded them with quelques grains (marshmallows) and put them in the freezer to see if they would survive. They all made it and the girls got to celebrate by enjoying the sweet treats inside.
